Get into a good book from Santa

Thursday, December 04, 2008, 15:40

SANTA has been dishing out words of wisdom at his Swansea grotto.

Well-behaved children have been lucky enough to meet Santa Claus at Waterfront Winterland.

Children have been able to give him their full Christmas lists, courtesy of a special Royal Mail postbox at the grotto, and have a new book to read over the festive period, thanks to Borders.

Borders in Fforestfach, Swansea, is helping out with the grotto to tie in with the 2008 National Year of Reading, which aims to build a greater national passion for reading among children and families, as well as adult learners.

Store manager David Taylor said: "It's nice for children to see Santa before the big day, and, every child that visits Santa at the Waterfront Winterland grotto will get a book as well as some extra treats."

The grotto is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3.30pm until 7pm, and on weekends from 11am until 6pm.
